Mentors

Glover EmpowerMentoring programs offer young people education, job skills, personal development opportunities, leadership skills, and a chance to direct their lives more positively. G.E.M. mentors provide support to mentees as they go through the G.E.M. experience, as well as ongoing support to graduates in order to ensure their continued educational, personal, and professional success. Mentors are the foundation of the G.E.M. community; supporting the learning, development, and exploration of our young people.

Description of a G.E.M. mentor

A mentor is an individual who has a positive impact on a young adult’s life. He or she is a trusted person, who is caring and offers solutions and support. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to provide access to people, places, and things outside the mentee’s daily routine and environment. Our mentors utilize the Educational/Life Plan, a written statement of the goals of the young person, as an ongoing touch point for your mentoring relationship.
